The Nigerian government will treat Niger Delta armed fighters as terrorists and deal with them in a similar manner to Boko Haram unless they agree to negotiate, President Muhammadu Buhari has said.Mr. Buhari, whose government has succeeded in taming the Boko Haram insurgents and largely limited their activities to Borno State, said this in Kenya according to his spokesperson, Garba Shehu.Armed militants in the Niger Delta region haveclaimed responsibility for several attacks on oil and gas installations that have reduced Nigeria’s oil output by half and worsened the electricity situation in the country.A group, the Niger Delta Avengers, which claimed responsibility for most of the attacks, recently indicated its willingness to negotiate with the government. It asked that an elder statesman from the region, Edwin Clark, be part of the negotiation team that should also include officials of relevant multinational oil companies. While speaking at a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, on the sidelines of the sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) in Nairobi, Kenya, Mr. Buhari indicated his government would use maximum force to deal with the militants if peace efforts failed.“We are talking to some of their leaders,” he said. “We will deal with them as we dealt with Boko Haram if they refuse to talk to us.”“As a government, we know our responsibility, which is to secure the environment. It is clear to us that lenders won’t fund projects in insecure environments.“We realize that we have to secure the country before we can efficiently manage it,” the President added.Speaking at another interview with journalistsin Kenya, Mr. Buhari expressed doubt in the unilateral ceasefire recently announced by theAvengers.‘‘We do not believe that they (the militants) have announced ceasefire,” he said.“We are trying to understand them more. Whoare their leaders and which areas do they operate and other relevant issues.”The Nigerian military has continued its offensive against the militants, whose demand include local control of oil resources, despite the ceasefire announced by the avengers. On Saturday, Army spokesperson, Sani Usman, announced some successes against the armed militants.“The 133 Special Forces Battalion of Nigerian Army troops have carried out a precursor operation to Exercise CROCODILE SMILE aimed at getting rid of all forms of criminal activities in the Niger Delta geo-political region of Nigeria.“In the course of the operation, five militants that attacked the troops were killed in action, while numerous others were injured and 23 suspects were arrested,” Mr. Usman, a colonel, said of the attack that happened on Friday.

Mimiko, Fayose can’t impose leaders on us – S’West PDP
The South-West leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party have said they
will not allow the Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko and his
Ekiti State counterpart, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, to impose the next national
chairman of the party on them.
Rather, the leaders said they would meet in Ibadan before the party’s
national convention slated for August 17 at Port Harcourt, Rivers
State, to pick the candidate of their choice for the position.
The South-West Zonal Chairman of the party, Chief Makanjuola
Ogundipe, stated this in an interview with one of our correspondents on
Tuesday.
Ogundipe, who said he was speaking on behalf of officers of the party
in the zone, described the meeting hosted by Mimiko and Fayose in Akure
on Monday as a “nullity and non-inclusive.”
Makanjuola said, “We won’t allow Mimiko and Fayose to impose any
national chairman on members of the party from the zone and the country
in general.
“The Akure meeting is a nullity because they didn’t even allow the genuine delegates to have access to the venue of the meeting.
“A meeting that was dominated by non-delegates to the national
convention, statutory delegates were barred and so on, cannot be said to
be in the interest of the party in our zone.
“It is sad that even when a court of competent jurisdiction gave a
valid judgement that our executive should be in office till 2018, the
governors are disregarding it.
“We won’t go anywhere if we continue to choose the judgement to obey
and the one to disregard. We are therefore meeting at Ibadan this week
to take a constitutional decision on the issue.”
At the Akure meeting, the factional leaders had zoned the office of
the national chairman to Ogun and Lagos states, Ekiti and Ondo states
were allocated the office of the national treasurer while Oyo and Osun
states were asked to fill the position of the deputy national publicity
secretary.
The Punch reports that it is the Makanjuola-led zonal executive that is recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The executive was however said to have been excluded the faction from the Akure meeting.
It was also gathered that the members of the Ogun State executive
committee of the party led by Mr. Adebayo Dayo, were prevented from
gaining access to the venue of the meeting.
Ogundipe said that he would call a meeting of the leaders of the
party from the zone to decide when they would meet to take a decision on
the issue.
The South-West leadership of the party also met in Ibadan on Tuesday
and declared that the position of the chairman of the party that was
zoned to the zone by the National Working Committee of the party
remained open for all interested candidates to contest.
The decision, which was taken on Tuesday in Ibadan after an emergency
zonal meeting of the party at its secretariat in Bodija, came less than
24 hours after the South-West elders and governors of the PDP met in
Akure, Ondo State, and zoned the National Chairmanship position to Lagos
and Ogun state.
A communiqué issued at the end of the meeting in Ibadan said the
South-West wing of the party opposed the position taken in the Akure
meeting because it was against the PDP’s constitution on who had the
power to convene any zonal meeting.
The Ibadan meeting was attended by Ogundipe, the zonal secretary of
the party, Pegba Otemolu, the auditor, Adekola Rasaq and other officers.
At the meeting, Ogundipe maintained that the office of the National
Chairman of the party remained open to all interested members in the six
states in the zone.
He said, “At the meeting in Port Harcourt last week, the position of
the National Chairman, National Treasurer and the Deputy National
Publicity Secretary was zoned to the South-West. It is only logical for
us to come back home and decide how we are going to share the positions
Meanwhile, a PDP national chairmanship aspirant, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has
said that he will resolve whatever crisis his ambition can create
between him and his political godfather, Chief Olabode George.
Agbaje, a former governorship candidate of the party in Lagos State,
stated this when he visited the makeshift national headquarters of the
party in Abuja on Tuesday to pick his nomination and expression of
interest forms.
Asked how comfortable he was to contest against his political
godfather, he said, “just leave that to us, we will resolve it at home.”
But he said he was sure of his chances, adding that he would not have picked the forms if he did not believe he would win.
“I would not have come here to collect the form if I do not believe I
am going to win this election come August 17,” he said with confident.
On zoning, Agbaje said it was difficult to get a consensus candidate
“under circumstances where everybody felt that he was qualified, adding
that the beauty of democracy remained that people should not be afraid
to contest.
Agbaje denied being the candidate of the governors for the position
of the national chairman, saying he has yet to meet the 13 governors to
inform them about his aspiration.

There is massive individual and institutional corruption in the House of Representatives- Abdulmumin Jibrin
In a new statement he released this evening titled"WHY THEY ALWAYS WANTED ME OUT", sacked chairman of the House committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin, says there is massive individual and institutional corruption in the House of Representatives. Read the statement below...Since the corrupt Speaker Yakubu Dogara made the public comment that padding is NOT an offense, the question on the lips of Nigerians is why then did the same Speaker Dogara said he "sacked" me on the grounds of padding allegations?I have said it repeatedly and wish to restate that I didnothing wrong and I committed no offense. I did not abuse my office nor corruptly enrich myself in the 5 years I have been in the House The only reason why they wanted me out is my independent-mindedness,resistance to corruption and my refusal to "play ball"on the gross abuse of office they institutionalized in the House. They simply want to have someone that can do their corrupt bidding. Now that I have exposed the fact that Speaker Dogara and the 3 others are the padders, padding is no longer an offense, Shame! Shame!! and shame!!! As it stands today, these corrupt elements have infiltrated the House, making the institution a hub of systemic corruption. I repeat, there is massive individual and institutional corruption in the House ofRepresentatives aided and abetted by the corrupt Speaker Dogara. All Nigerians have a responsibility to avail themselves of this rare opportunity to flush out corruption in the House.I have pledged my continuous support and assistance to the security and anti-corruption agencies. Let me also state that contrary to some myopic opinion that it would affect the institution of the House, it will rather free the institution of the grip of these corrupt vested interests, restore its intergrity and shape it to become a pride to Nigerians home and abroad. While Speaker Dogara and the other 12 corrupt members are running from pillar to post trying to re define padding, avoid the anticorruption agencies, looking for cover or soft landing, I have held several meetings with the agencies, provided useful documents and vital information. They obviously have so much to hide, so much to fear.I have repeatedly urged Speaker Dogara and his gang of 12 corrupt members to feel free and forward any allegations they have against me to the anti-corruption agencies. That is if they finally find something beyond the lame allegations of"immaturity" and "betrayal", which I have dealt with in my memoir series that will commence in a few days. To them, maturity is simply to suppress and hide corruption. I am not in anyway immune to investigation and prosecution if found wanting. I have pledged to stand as witness against them on this matter; they can as well stand witness against me.I strongly believe that what is happening today is beyond Hon Abdulmumin or Speaker Dogara. It is clearly from God. It is a clear sign that Almighty God has answered the prayers of Mr President to completely wipe corruption out of Nigeria. This is what I have always wanted to do, fight and expose corruption in the House.I have fought corruption internally in the House. Now, I cherish this rare opportunity to do it externally. Yes, it is coming after I left as Chairman Appropriations which some people still question. Butdoes that in anyway affect the substance of the allegations I have raised so far? As events unfold, Nigerians will come to realise that this is what I havealways wanted to do, fight corruption! I strongly believe that God has prepared me all my life for this. It is a non-negotiable destiny of mine.I say to Speaker Yakubu Dagara and the 3 other principal officers, the House of Representatives belongs to Nigerians, listen to their voices, take a moment and listen perhaps you will do the right thing!!! God bless.

80 percent of Nigerian women in Italy arrived for prostitution – UN
The United Nations’ International Organization for Migration (IOM) has said that about eighty per cent of Nigerian women who arrived Italy by boat in the first half of 2016 were trafficked for prostitution.
“What we have seen this year is a crisis; it is absolutely unprecedented and is the most significant increase in the number of Nigerian women arriving in Italy for 10 years,” UK Guardian quoted Simona Moscarelli, an anti-trafficking expert at the IOM.She said majority of the women were being deliberately brought in for sexual exploitation purposes as criminal gangs and trafficking networksengaging in the sexual exploitation of younger Nigerian girls had expanded. In 2014, about 1,500 Nigerian women arrived by sea.In 2015 this figure had increased to 5,633. Moscarelli warned that the current policy of placing Nigerian women in reception centres along with thousands of other migrants was playing to the traffickers’ advantage, with women regularly going missing. Most Nigerian women who arrived in Italy are already victims of trafficking, many have been subjected to serious sexual exploitation in Libya, shesaid.“They are really treated like slaves. They arrive Italy with debts of about £40,000 for their journey from Nigeria, which they are expected to pay back.“Nigerian trafficking gangs use a toxic mix of false promises of legitimate employment and traditional ‘juju’ ceremonies to recruit and gain psychological control over their victims,” the official added.

“You’re a total failure,” APC chieftain slams Buhari'
A factional chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Kano State, Hussaini Mairiga, on Monday came down hard on President MuhammaduBuhari, describing the president as a total failure.
Mr. Mairiga, who spoke with journalists in Kano, said“from the looks of things President Buhari has betrayed the confidence of the Nigerian masses whovoted for him massively into power.”The president, who was elected on the platform of the APC, assumed office on May 29, 2015.The factional chairman said it was not an exaggeration that members of many families in the country go to bed without at least one square meal while others had fled their homes because they could no longer provide the basic needs of life for their loved ones.Mr. Mairiga, who is known for his bluntness, expressed worry that after one year of the Buhari administration in power, there was nothing to show while poverty in the country had reached an unprecedented level. He lamented that while a bag of rice now sold for N16, 000, prices of other essentials commodities had tripled.Mr. Mairiga noted with dismay that prices of goods were rising at a time the ordinary man did not have money to make a living.Another disturbing scenario, according to the factional APC chairman, was that those around the president, including his ministers, had refused to tell him the truth and advice on the reality on ground. He reminded Mr. Buhari of his campaign promises, stating that he did not like the way the masses were allowed to wallow in destitution and penury. He said Nigerians were in the worst condition that needed urgent attention. The APC Chairman advised the president to stop deceiving Nigerians that the nation had no money whereas on monthly basis the federal and states governments continued to enjoy boost in their allocations.Mr. Mairiga asked the federal government to urgently open all the closed borders with other countries to allow food into the country. He warned that if urgent steps were not taken to address the present situation in the country, Nigerians would soon begin to die of hunger on the streets.

Dollar scarcity: Nigerians should prepare for another increase in the pump prices of petrol – Marketers
Nigerians should prepare for another increase in the pump prices of petrol, due to the continued scarcity of foreign exchange to finance the importation of theproduct, oil marketers have said.According to them, the United States dollar hit an all-time high last week, as it exchanged for N400 at the parallel market.Worried by the development, the marketers say if noturgently addressed, the pump prices of petrol will not remain at the approved rates. The Federal Government liberalised the downstreamsector of the petroleum industry on May 11, 2016, and announced an increase in the pump prices of petrol from N86 and N86.5 per litre to between N135 and N145 per litre. It also stated that the market was to be driven by thefactors of demand and supply, as it was now largely in the hands of private sector players. But oil marketers told Punch’s correspondent on Monday that despite the competition in the business, they were struggling to retain the price of the Premium Motor Spirit within the approved range.“The truth is that Nigerians just have to brace for higher PMS price; there are no two ways about it. The government cannot fund this market; the money is not just there. Even if the government wishes to assist, it does not have the wherewithal to do. So, Nigerians should brace for higher rates,” an official of one of the notable oil marketing companies, who spoke to Punch on condition of anonymity, said.

Okonjo-Iweala begged me not to say Nigeria was broke –Amaechi
The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has said a former Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, pleaded with him not to tell Nigerians that the country was broke.Amaechi, who said the country went into recession under the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, added that the previous administration covered up with the excuse that the country was cash-strapped.An online medium, The Cable, reported that Amaechi said this on the Osasu Show on Tuesday.According to the report, Amaechi alleged that Okonjo-Iweala, begged him to stop saying Nigeria was broke in order not to drive away investors from the country.Amaechi, who was the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum at the time, explained that the economy went into a recession due to excessiveborrowing. He said, “People just pick up words without knowing what they mean. Even under Goodluck (Jonathan) we went into recession.“I am one of those who participated in the budget. We looked at what happened in the past and we discovered that actually if recession means three times (three quarters of negative economic growth), we have done more than the three times before we came in.“The difference is that while our government is transparent and open, we are able to admit that, the Federal Government was saying even to me as chairman of governor’s forum, ‘Amaechi, don’t say that again’.“If you remember as governor, I said we were broke. The minister of finance came to my officein Abuja and pleaded with me that I shouldn’t say it again. That if I said it, it would affect Nigeria in terms of investment; that investors will run away. That I shouldn’t say we are broke. I should say we are cash-strapped. That was what Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala told me.“So, I knew as chairman of Nigeria Governors’ forum, that we had gone into recession under Goodluck. I knew as chairman of governor’s forum. And when I open my mouth to say it, that we are broke, she spoke to me not to say it.

RCCG OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL ARE YOU GROWING IN GRACE? Wednesday August 3 2016
RCCG OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL
ARE YOU GROWING IN GRACE? Wednesday August 3 2016
Memorise:
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
2Peter 3:18
Read:
Luke 2:39-40
39 And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.
40 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
MESSAGE:
Show me a man that is doing great exploits in life and in ministry and I will show you a man that is growing in the grace and knowledge of the Almighty God. It is the grace of the Almighty God that makes us vessels of honour and beneficiaries of this grace; we need to continue to grow in it so that we will not run out of it. By virtue of our past, none of us will be qualified to be amongst the chosen of God, but the grace and mercy of God qualifies us. It was His grace that brought us salvation and not our works. It was the grace of God that blotted out the handwriting of the devil against all the sins we had committed. The devil stood to accuse us before the Almighty God, but His mercy stood in for us. Long ago when I was a lecturer in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria, a woman brought her sick child to me for prayers as she had been told to come and see me; a man of God. When she arrived and discovered that I was the man of God she was asked to see, she couldn’t hide her shock because she knew how bad I was in the past. Only the grace of God could have taken me from being a ‘great sinner’ to being a ‘man of God’. The moment we come to the truth of the gospel, there is an expectation from us. There is an expectation to live a life of holiness. A personal knowledge of God is necessary to enable us obtain His best for our lives. As God reveals Himself to us daily, we in turn, must reveal Him to others.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God”
Ephesians 2:8
The grace of God is available in abundance, but must not be taken for granted. We must use the grace that we have received to be a blessing to others. The grace of God makes the forgiveness of sin possible. This is why every child of God must have a big heart to ‘let go’. You must not hold anything against anyone. Others may, but you cannot; because you are expected to be growing in grace and in the knowledge of Christ. The grace of God helps us to stand in the gap in the place of prayer. This makes it necessary for us to seek the face of God on behalf of those that God has committed to our trust. We must always remember that it is Jesus that has chosen us out of His own divine grace (John 15:16).
Despite the antecedents of Saul, God chose Him. Jeremiah was chosen and ordained even before his birth. With all these examples and stories of our time, it is wisdom to make the best choice of allowing God to have His way in our lives. We must glorify God in all we do. We must continue to grow in Him and never allow His investment to go to waste. We must justify His being interested in us by living holy and being a blessing to the Body of Christ with all the talents, abilities, endowments and gifts He has given us. Don’t allow yourself to be led astray by the immoral conduct of those who have given themselves to the lust of the flesh. It is the responsibility of every one to grow in the things of the Spirit and the motivation required for this has been given through the revelation of His grace through the cross.
Prayer Point:
Father, cause me to grow daily in your grace and knowledge in Jesus’ name.

OPEN HEAVENS - BLESSING FROM ABOVE....AUGUST 1 2016
BLESSINGS FROM ABOVE Monday August 1 2016
Memorise:
Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn And wine; also his heaven shall drop down dew.
Deuteronomy 33:28
Read: Deuteronomy 33:27-29
33:27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them.
33:28 Israel then shall dwell in safety alone: the fountain of Jacob shall be upon a land of corn and wine; also his heavens shall drop down dew.
33:29 Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the Lord, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.
MESSAGE:
There are different kinds of blessings, but there is a kind of blessing that comes from God alone. This is the blessing that has no boundary. It is from above where God sits to coordinate the affairs of His people. Today, the blessing of God will locate you wherever you are in Jesus’ name. If you must prosper the way God desires, you cannot afford to ignore the presence of God.
Those who have succeeded exceedingly in life are those whose source of blessing is God. When the presence of God is with you, He causes whatever you lay your hands upon to prosper. With little effort, you enjoy great favour and you become a channel of blessings to others around you.
If you study the biblical men of faith; Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, you will notice that God was not only interested in giving them blessings that will be sufficient for them alone, He was interested in blessing them to a point that they become channels of blessings to others. Do you know God can bless you so much that your driver becomes a millionaire just from driving you? He told Abraham.
“And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shall be a blessing”
Genesis 12:2
The blessing that came from above into the life of Abraham made a great nation out of him. That blessing gave him such a great name that there was no nation where his name was not known. The name attracted so many blessings to his life that he became a great possessor of vast expanses of land and today, his seed are all over the world. God can make you a man or woman of great wealth and power. No matter how dry your ground may be at the moment; He can raise greatness out of it and make your little one become a thousand. The outpouring of God’s blessing upon your life can move you beyond the point of daily provision and mere survival, to the point in which you become the talk of nations because of how frightening your blessings have become. Peter who toiled all night and caught nothing became the talk of the town when he experienced a net-breaking blessing. I have always said that a day is coming and that season is here for a reader of this devotional, that when you take your money to the bank, the bank manager will order that the branch be shut down for three days to other customers just because they are attending to you.
For you to achieve this level of blessing, you need to understand that it will not come easy, but you need not be discouraged because God is ever faithful and He knows the path to take you through to get there. God is the fountain of all honour and it is from Him that promotion comes. What you are going through at the moment may not show that you are a candidate for this kind of blessing but you need to know that the plan and purpose of God for your life cannot be denied. Your faith and obedience will be tried. You need to be separated and set aside for God alone.
Those who forsake their sins and turn to God will get blessings that they never bargained for. You have to take your mind off the mundane things of this world and step up into the higher ground of what God is prepared to do with your life.
Key Point:
Until there is a departure from the little things, there will be no discovery of greater things.
