President Muhammadu Buhari has lauded the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, for his leadership style and his peace moves in the country.
The President spoke in Ile Ife, Osun State on Saturday during the grand finale of programmes to mark the monarch’s first coronation anniversary.
Buhari, who was represented at the ceremonyby the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, also eulogised the monarch for his passion for youth emancipation and his efforts to enhance development.
The President said, “Kabiyesi Ooni has healedthe wound in our country by bringing everybody together.
We know that a lot has gone into this. It is not a matter of age but thefact that you are blessed by the Almighty Godto do so.
We hope that in your many years on the throne, we will witness more advancement of the entire Yoruba land, Nigeria and everywhere we have Yorubas around the world.
Many are celebrating you in Cuba, Brazil, America and other countries. We appreciate your contribution to our development.”
